I have THE BIGGEST girl crush on Cara and of course I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. I am admittedly a self help/personal development junkie, but this book was EVERYTHING to me. The style, the flow, the way she talks to you like she’s your best friend sitting on your couch drinking wine with you and giving you the sweetest tough love.. if you can even call it that. Her writing has the ability to make you feel deeply connected to her through the pages. She writes like she talks in her social media stories and on her podcast and it’s so authentic, which is what I loved most. Her stories are relatable.. she has been through STUFF and she never sugar coats it or sits on a soapbox about it. She is inspiring without even trying and really makes you THINK. The structure of this book is amazing with the thought provoking questions sprinkled throughout the chapters to make you really reflect on what her message means to you. I truly can’t say enough about this book and I honestly feel forever changed just by reading it.. as corny as that may sound! I honestly want to buy this for birthday and Christmas gifts for every single woman in my life because this book is such a beautiful gift that all women need to experience!
Read this book in 3 DAYS! I felt bold! I bought a dress I wouldn't normally buy LOL, I was confident when dealing with a work issue, and I AM IN LOVE with myself for once. As she mentions in the book, much about confidence is 'unlearning' all the things we have been programmed to believe as young girls. I KNOW it is going to be a process, and I'm so down for this challenge. I love who I am becoming! If you need a foundation to start being more confident and believing in yourself, let Cara's books help you. My fave one!!!!!!
I love Cara and bought all her books... but this one is hard to relate to....She mentions quitting her job was such a huge sacrifice. But she has her husbands income to rely on, no kids... Anyone can quit their job when you have people to support you.Good points where made- but nothing you’ve haven’t heard before. This whole book could have been a Quora article.
Having loved GIRL CODE, I knew I would have to read Cara Alwill Leyba’s latest. What I wasn’t expecting was how truly amazing and inspiring this book was for me. The author empowers her readers through the lessons she learned over the years. On a personal and professional level, this book is a must-read to help you own who you are and rock it.I think, for me, my take away with this book was less business than I thought it would be. Because the author talks a lot about accepting yourself, "flaws" and all, I started looking at how I perceive myself and how much energy I was putting into looking as perfect as possible. Now, I will admit, I am not cured at succumbing to the photo filter or trying to take away my dark circles. However, I am learning to focus on the positive rather than the negative.After reading this book, I can see a shift in the force. I am slowly crawling out of my insecurity hole and can see a difference in multiple facets of my life.
I love love love Cara for how driven she is and that simply put: Cara IS magic. She is literally a walking manifestor-or that's what it feels like LOL. I admire her for her strengths, passion, and her brand of empowerment for women. After following her for 2 years or so I cannot deny that I am super proud of her hard work. This is her first time working with a publisher. The reason I gave this 4 stars is because I am a "feeling" person. Everything I pick up on is energy. The opening and the ending of this book is classic Cara-I can feel her soul in these parts. There were def points in the book that I resonated with but I felt like the voice I was hearing was rigid-not to insult-but in ALL of Cara's books her special spark is found line by line. From beginning to end I could feel her passion for her words. I didn't feel that as much in this book which lead me to think one of two things 1.pressure from publisher or 2. Too many opinions affecting the flow. This is my opinion but either way this will NOT be her last and I look forward to the next one.

Cara shares so many raw, vulnerable personal stories that make her so relatable and easy to relate to and connect with. This is Cara’s best book yet, hands down.
Cara is one of the most inspiring, real women I know. She’s always interacting and uplifting her girl gang (Slay Baby Collective) on Facebook. I’ve been following her books, and have seen her evolution! This book is no different, it’s full of empowering advice and inspiration. She tells stories of her own struggles and how she was able to overcome them.I noticed there’s a one star review that said she comes off as “superior†in this one but I don’t get that vibe at all. I think Cara isn’t afraid to uplevel, and she brings all of her ladies right along with her.

The book itself is pink, with a black spine. The writing on the black spine is lime green. So cute!3. The style of the book makes it an entertaining, engaging read. Cara does a great job of mixing personal anecdotes, questions that prompt you to think, and quotes.4. There are writing prompts in the book to help you dig deeper into the content!! You guys didn't tell me that!! So awesome.5. Cara covers so many topics that I feel like are really at the core of insecurity. Those topics include self sabotage, beauty, the people you surround yourself with, and defining success in your own terms!I'm so excited to read through each section more slowly and work on the prompts!
